I liked the book, kept you in suspence
Love this book! Toni Leland is very accurate in her knowledge of the Arabian horse show scene and pedigrees. It so reminded me of my years as a trainer on an Arabian farm here in Northern California.
I show dogs and the politics are the same. You have to pay your dues before winning in the breed ring and last of all the group ring. You can win in classes but not the higher up spots. Love it.
I simply do not understand the five star rating this book got. It's probably one of the worst horse stories I've ever read, and in general gives you the uncomfortable feeling you have entered someone else's manic-depressive hell. It's an abhorrent representation of the horse show industry, and since I am an Arabian horse owner, I'm most disturbed by the disgusting and uneducated portrayal of our breed. The uneducated author apparently doesn't understand "training" or halter exhibition, as the "performance" aspects of each are intertwined at the oddest possible moments. Additionally, I think I got whiplash trying to follow all of the unnecessary plot twists, changes, backtracks and ... wait a second ... I'm not sure there was a plot.

I do apologize for such a terrible review, but this was not a well written book in any sense of the word or imagination. There was no character development whatsoever, and so many unnecessary characters it was very confusing.

Don't waste money on this one.
This was a great read, I enjoy romance in a book without all the details of all the physical aspects. This author does not take away from the plot when describing the character's relationship. This author stays true to that style in all Her books and that is why I have read everyone of them I have been able to get my hands on.
What a well written and unpredictable book! I've never read anything like it (except her other great books!) A must read for any horse lover.
This story combined the Love of the Arabian horse with the drama of the politics and the highly competitive nature of the show
ring. The classic nature of the small breeder verses the wealthy breeder stood out in this book. In the end things ended well. This
book had it all, mystery, love, compassion and true friendships. I would like to see this story line continued in a series.
